Last month I decided to escape the everyday life and hit the road for three months. The goal: play as much magic and meet as many like-minded people as possible. I booked my BahnCard 100 and had to wait for two weeks to get everything set up. It seems like you need go through lots of hoops to get that train flat in your hands. Anyway, I started of the trip last week in Hamburg to meet up with a local gaming company. I had a great kick-off until I pulled two rip muscle in the subway. Rip muscles support respiration and this is the worst pain I had in a while. Luckily it got better within 6 days so I was ready to continue my trip to MKM Series Hamburg 2018 to play some Modern on Saturday and Legacy on Sunday.

For the Modern main event I was able to lend Eldrazi Tron from David (who btw. taught me to play magic back then) and did my best. I ended up with a 2:3 losing to Green Tron and 2x Elves and dropped to play the Legacy Grand Trial. For this side event I was able to lend a foiled out Czech Pile from Momme. I had a lot of fun playing that deck and I definitely see it’s strength and potential but ended up losing to my own lack of experience.

I had a great sleep and the venue was only 1 hour away from Kiel. Hannes, who also lend me his 100% self-altered Miracles deck, picked up Jan Stadler (Top8 Sealed and won Standard, jeez you machine) and me in the morning. I’ve been playing Miracles for most of my time in Legacy but recently sold my 4x Tundra and 4x Volcanic Island with Snapcardster as a stress-test. While the #topban definitely lowered the power-level, most of the mechanics are the same and I was very confident going into the tournament with the 75.

Look at that beauty! How can you not fall in love with this?
